Investigating carbon dioxide. The children in year 4 have been learning about the states of matter. In this investigation, we dropped raisins into fizzy pop and observed what happened. We noticed that the raisins danced up and down. This is because the carbon dioxide acts like a life jacket keeping the raisin afloat but when the bubble pops it sinks back down again. the process continues until the carbon dioxide has gone. We had great fun and enjoyed seeing whose raisin danced the best!
