'Tlot Tlot, Tlot Tlot' On your horses Year 6, we will be beginning the Spring Term by racing into our Narrative Poetry Unit and learning all about The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes. You will work in groups to demonstrate your performance skills by acting, reading, creating a musical piece, or, if you're feeling extra ambitious, incorporating everything together to show your representation of the poem. You will finish the topic by writing a detailed diary entry as the jealous and furious Tim the Ostler.
In non-fiction you will be exploring biographical texts and non-chronological reports - you will learn the features involved in these texts so you can create your own!
Place value, x and ÷ including decimals, use of + - x ÷ to solve ‘real life’ problems including money, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio and proportion, handling data, shape and space as well as co-ordinates, working out the perimeter and area of a shape, measures including conversion of one unit to another, properties, pattern and sequences in numbers. Please brush up on your times tables - the quicker you can recall them, the more efficient you will be at using them to solving problems!
This term you will be exploring The Heart and Lungs. Get ready for lots of fun facts, active learning as you become the respiratory system, and investigating changes in heart rate through exercise. We will end the unit by investigating healthy eating, and finding out what can be harmful to our bodies.
This term you will explore Art work from the famous He Qi, that focuses on both gospel accounts of The Birth of Jesus. You will have lots of opportunity to explore the bible and brush up on your bible referencing skills, as we explore and discuss key similarities and differences between both accounts. You will end the unit by reporting on the event in the style of a Newspaper Report.
Followers of Christ. What is God calling you to do in life? In this unit you will explore the lives of the disciples, and understand what God called them to do. How inspiring! And what a great way to prepare for your confirmation.

Flinstones, meet the Flinstones, they're the modern Stone Age family. From the town of Bedrock, they're a page right out of history! We're heading all the way back to the Savage Stone Age right the way through to the Iron Age. In this fascinating topic we will have heated class debates about the reliability of evidence, and create caveman art in classroom caves!
This will be all about invasion games! You will develop your attack and defence skills in hockey, football, netball and basketball.
