Welcome to Reception
Our team are :
15th February 2018
Can you believe that we are now half-way through our first year at BIG school...!? No? Neither can we!!
This week, we have been 'busy, busy, busy' learning about the real meaning of Shrove Tuesday and Lent. We have also been learning about St Valentine's Day and the Chinese New Year. We have learned that this year will be the 'Year of the Dog' and that, if we are already aged 5, we were born in the 'Year of the Dragon' and if we are still aged 4, we were born in the 'Year of the Snake'. It turns out that both Mrs Jeyes AND Mrs Forsyth were born in the Year of the Rabbit. (Little wonder that neither of them can stop talking!!)
We have made, and eaten, pancakes, created and written St Valentine's Day cards, explored and investigated Chinese New Year, via role-play and tasting noodles and prawn crackers, and played our part in the 'Early Phase' Ash Wednesday liturgy. PHEW!! It's no wonder that we're all worn out!
Many thanks for your continued support, wishing you all a peaceful and happy half-term break!
The Reception Team.
