Welcome to Reception
Our team are :
12th April 2019
A very good evening to you all on the final day of the Spring term.
As we will not be at school for Holy Week, we brought it forward!
On Monday, we made our own palms to role-play Jesus' arrival into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and, on Tuesday, after joining the rest of our school for Mass, we role-played The Last Supper, sharing bread and 'wine' (blackcurrant squash).
Wednesday was our Lenten fundraising morning; thank you all for sending in money for your children to participate in this fun activity organised by our older children. Stalls included a nail bar, a tattoo parlour, shoot the drink can and an 'I'm a celebrity'-style Bush tucker trial!
On Thursday, we learned about The Stations of the Cross and, on Friday, we met up with our Year 5 prayer buddies to explore The Stations of the Cross displayed on our school field. We all enjoyed a drink of squash and a biscuit before joining together for prayers in our Prayer Garden.
Your children have really enjoyed their learning and have asked many thoughtful and deep questions about the mysteries surrounding transubstantiation and the resurrection; we are very proud of them!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support this term and to wish you all a peaceful and joyful Easter.
The Reception Team.
Our topic this term is 'All creatures great and small'.
