We will also be writing explanations in our science learning (heart and lungs).

This term you will be learning all about the heart and lungs. Love learning about blood, heart anatomy and fun medical facts from history? This is the unit for you! As we dive further into the unit, you will be setting up investigations to test heart rate and will even be dissecting a pig's heart and lungs!

The Story of The people of God. This unit builds on the Old Testament work from year 4 and the work on the Passover from year 5. It also provides a foundation for work on the Sacrament of Confirmation when we consider God's call in the lives of Christians today. Children will study the different books of the bible and understand some styles of literature found in the Bible. They will learn about some significant people from the Old Testament and will be able to discuss their relationship with God and the Commandments.

Advent This unit provides an opportunity to develop their knowledge and to understand the two parts of the Season of Advent. A time to prepare for Christ to come again and a time to prepare for his birth at Christmas.

Christmas In this unit of work, the children will explore the story of the birth of Christ from the Gospel of St Matthew and St Luke. They will also learn about some images of Christ that are found in the Prologue to the Gospel of St John.

Prayer: You will develop your understanding of prayer as a special way of spending time with God. You will explore the vocabulary, actions, places and aids associated with prayer and practice some meditation.

A very important part of your learning in our school is learning about and practising your faith. You will regularly be invited to be involved in the celebration of Mass and the planning of liturgies.

Through our ‘Let’s Blow Something Up’ theme, you will learn all about Guy Fawkes and his plot to blow up parliament.

This November marks 100 years since the end of WW1. To mark the occasion, you will be transported back in time to find out what life was like during WW1.

This term you will be experimenting with different pencil and shading techniques in order to produce self portraits. You will also practise the method of drawing different landscapes in one point perspective.

Get ready to work as a team and are going to be learning volleyball skills. Get those feet moving and enjoy our WW1 dance too!
