21st January 2022

Good evening all!

Well, we've all enjoyed a fun-packed week! We've been discussing journeys made by road and loved using 'junk' to recreate vehicles for our 'Let's Move!' display. At the beginning of the week we continued to visit our 'Shoe Shop' role play area but were thrilled to witness its transformation to a 'Baptism' role play area on Wednesday!

On Tuesday, we enjoyed our second P.E. session using the large apparatus and, yet again, we were amazing. Some of us even achieved our first ever independent 'jump'!

This sequence of learning will continue until the February half-term break so we would be grateful if you could ensure that your child's P.E. kit is in school throughout this time.

On Wednesday, we were greeted with our outdoor 'Firefighters' role play area and we truly rose to the occasion - racing around the outdoor area and putting out fires!

Throughout the week, we have continued our learning about Baptism and we would be grateful for any symbols of Baptism that you're happy to send into school to further support and enhance the children's learning.

This week's Reading Pack contains a 'My Baptism' booklet for your child to complete and return to school by next Monday (31st January). This activity will support and furnish our Baptism display board.

We've now consolidated our Phase 2 phonics and have begun exploring Phase 3. Exciting times!!

We've already been introduced to the new sounds: 'j', 'v', 'w', 'x', 'y', 'z','zz', 'qu', 'sh' and 'ch'.

The first week of January's Home Learning Challenge asked your child to email their teachers with a brief description of their favourite present / time spent as a family / excursion, accompanied by a photo.

A BIG THANK YOU to all who have already done so. For those of you who haven't yet completed this activity, Miss Bagladi's email address is <> and Mrs Forsyth's is <> We can't wait to hear from you!

Next week, in addition to continuing our learning about Baptism, we will be exploring the role of the Emergency Services.

AND, for those who haven't yet seen our Advent liturgy, a video of our dress rehearsal can be accessed via the secure YouTube link:

Please DO remember that this was a rehearsal!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Goodnight, God bless,

P.E: This will take place every Tuesday.

Please ensure that your child's P.E. kit is in school.

The children should arrive each Tuesday morning wearing their school uniform and will be assisted in changing into their P.E. kit and, of course, back into their school uniform.

Many thanks for your support in this respect.
