Good Evening all!

Can you believe that we're about to embark upon our final week of Autumn Term 1!?

No...? Neither can we! Where's that first half-term gone!???

This week, we've heard the story of 'Funnybones'.

We've continued to enjoy playing in our Three Bears' Cottage role play area (indoors) and our Three Little Pigs' construction site (outside) but also begun to learn about how our bodies function.

On Tuesday, we joined the rest of our school for our first 'Whole School Mass' and we were simply AMAZING! Father Andrew was SOOO IMPRESSED!

Additionally, we proved to be 'The Stars of the Show' during yesterday afternoon's 'One World' liturgy.

Thank you SO MUCH for your support and kind donations of food for the BRUSH STROKES charity.

Throughout the week, we've continued to learn our phonics. These are the sounds we need to know to be able to read. We now know the sounds represented by 's', 'a', 't', 'i', 'p', 'n', 'm', 'd', 'g', 'o', 'c', 'k' and 'ck and, next week, we'll be learning the sounds represented by 'e', 'u' and 'r'.

We're all pretty brilliant and we're even starting to blend sounds together to read words!

Many apologies to those of you who may have experienced problems logging-in to the 'risingstars' website. You are NOT alone!

This continues to be a 'whole school' problem and we are trying our very best to 'unglitch the glitches'.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in this respect.

Although 'risingstars' will remain as our school's primary reading scheme, we will begin to send home 'real books' at the beginning of Autumn Term 2.

Reading Packs will be sent home every Thursday evening and we respectfully ask that they are returned to school each Monday morning.

Many thanks for your support in this respect.

Next week, we'll be hearing the story of 'Anna and her Amazing Technicolour Glasses' and enjoying lots of fun activities to support and enhance our understanding of both the story and how our eyes function.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend and looking forward to seeing you on Monday.

Goodnight, God bless,

The Reception Team

P.E: This will take place every Tuesday.

Please ensure that your child's P.E. kit is in school.

The children should arrive each Tuesday morning wearing their school uniform and will be assisted in changing into their P.E. kit and, of course, back into their school uniform.

Many thanks for your support in this respect.

The penultimate week of Autumn Term 1

We got to meet our Year 5 Prayer Buddies!

A flood for Noah's Ark and a shower for a baby!

We did this in 'one take' and we think you'll be able to tell!

Just to put 'faces to names', from left to right: Mrs Hegarty, Mrs Sweeney, Mrs Forsyth, Mrs Hayes.

Wishing you all a fabulous Summer and looking forward to seeing you in September! XXXX
