Week 7 - Saints project

Please find all the information in the document below regarding your Confirmation Saints Project. This is something you should take time and care over, so I do not expect you to complete this in a week. However, you are welcome to email your work over to me when you have completed it. s79teachers@ol-wayside.solihull.sch.uk

Before lock down, we explored the Sacrament of Confirmation in our RE lessons. If you have any questions you would like to ask about your Confirmation, speak with your family or contact myself.

The Archdiocese have put together some resources for prayer and learning for our children to access at home. They can be found using the weblink: https://www.bdes.org.uk/resources-for-prayer-and-learning.html

Have a look through the Holy Week PowerPoint above. You may also want to some more in-depth research yourself.

Spiritual Communion

It is with great sadness that as members of the Catholic community, we realise that Lent and Easter will be very different this year. In school, we were looking forward to a range of activities to mark preparations for Holy Week. Pope Francis and Archbishop Bernard are encouraging us to enter into spiritual communion during these difficult times. Our world is certainly in need of prayers and healing. Here are some links that your family might consider using in the coming days and weeks, our thanks to the RE Department at St Peter’s for their suggestions.

With the obligation to attend Sunday mass, temporarily suspended, technology does allow us to participate in this ‘Spiritual Communion’ from our homes. The following website facilitates the live streaming of Mass. Our Lady of Lourdes, Yardley Wood as well as St Ambrose Barlow are two local churches where Mass can be viewed at various times. https://www.mcnmedia.tv/
